Check out these gorgeous photo holiday cards

Last year we ordered our holiday cards from Couture Invito and we plan on doing so again this year.  They are beautiful and we received so many compliments on them!  Couture Invito has  many holiday photo card designs to choose from and you can even select your own color, font, and message.  They have given The Write Gal readers a coupon code to save 15% on their entire site!  Just enter writegal2009 at checkout to save; the discount is good until December 31, 2009.  If you order, tell Alesa that The Write Gal sent you.  Take a look at some of these gorgeous card designs:

In addition to holiday photo cards, they also carry stationery, photo notepads, and personalized gifts.  I did a review last year on the notepads and if you missed it you can read it here.  These make great gifts for Christmas!

I have to get my tree up this weekend so we can take a picture for our cards.  The Little Write Gal is ready and has even picked out her outfit as well as the dog’s!

Send Virtual Cards – Try Free Ecards

ecardpicThe next time you need to send a card to someone, try Free Ecards.  This site has free birthday ecards and many other occasions available including get well cards, friendship cards, and thank you and congratulations cards.  You can easily add a personalized image or photo to your card to give it that extra special touch. You can also attach an .mp3 audio file to send your favorite song with your card.  If you prefer to send traditional paper cards, skip the trip to the mall and browse the site’s large selection of free printable cards.  You can easily design and create your own card and print it out in your home to send to family and friends. There is a template which allows you to upload a personal photo from your computer or choose one of the many images available on the site. You can also choose from among the many message options or add your own personal message.

One thing I like about this site in addition to the many categories is that registration is not required like it is with some other similar companies out there.  You are not going to be bombarded by unwanted emails when you use this service.  It is fast, FREE, and easy!

Custom Notepad Giveaway

note2

I am so excited to host a contest featuring one of my favorite Etsy sellers, The Mermaid’s Treasures.  One lucky winner of my blog will receive a custom notepad in your choice of design including personalization with any name you choose.  As you can see from the pictures, these come in a variety of cute styles and colors.  You can view all of the custom notepad designs here.   Each notepad has 60 personalized pages that are perforated at the top along the bottom of the ribbon, so that they can be torn off without disturbing the decorative ribbon. The paper is 24 lb. weight, and the size is of the finished product is 5.5″ x 4.25″.

I ordered one of these recently for a friend of mine and the quality of the product is excellent.  Often when I have ordered notepads I felt like the paper was too flimsy.  Not so with these notepads.  I can’t say enough about the high quality of the paper and the ribbon used to create them.   I promise you will be completely happy with your purchase!  They make a perfect gift for yourself or a friend.  Check out the adorable teacher notepads which would make a great gift for your child’s teacher.

So I guess you are wondering how you can enter.  To enter, please visit The Mermaid’s Treasures and tell me in a comment which product is your favorite other than the notepads.  They also sell beautiful handmade jewlery, soaps, sugar scrubs, and scarves.  You can view all of their products here.  Additional entries are available for the following:

  • Receive five (5) extra entries if you blog about this contest.  Please be sure and leave me five separate comments telling me you did so and leave the URL for the post.  The winner will  be chosen randomly using Random.org so please be sure and leave the separate comments as I will not be counting those myself.
  • Receive five (5) extra entries if you follow me on Twitter or if you are already following me.  Make sure you tell me your Twitter username in the comment.
  • Receive five (5) extra entries if you subscribe (or already subscribe) to my blog feed.  Just click on the pretty “Subscribe to my Feed” button over in my sidebar.  Thanks to Cat from 3 Kids and Us for the button!

For the extra entries, remember to leave me a separate comment for each one.  The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, January 29th.  Thanks for entering!

Custom Photo Notepad Review and Giveaway!

note1

You have to put these on your “to buy” list for Christmas! These custom photo notepads from Couture Invito are the PERFECT gift, to buy for yourself, a relative, or that friend who has everything. Your favorite photograph can be made into a 100-page notepad (containing 10% Recycled Fiber) which can then be personalized with your perfect message. The photo notepads are available in both black and white and color.   Your recipient will be able to enjoy their gift for months after the Christmas season!  And they are affordable too!  I have seen professional photography studios sell the same thing at double the price.  You can cut out the “middle man” and order directly from Couture Invito.  The store owner, Alesa, sent me a sample to review and let me tell you…the paper quality is excellent.  You will love your purchase; I promise!

I love the origin of the name Couture Invito; “Couture” with the thought of quality designs, timeless sentiment and endless possibilities. “Invito” the Italian word for invitations symbolizing love of all things Italian (food, wine, style, and family).  The owner and designer, Alesa, has more than 10 years of experience in graphic design and advertising, and is stay-at-home/work-from-home mother of two with a great love of paper and stationery. In addition to great paper and stationery products, Couture Invito also sells photo jewelry, baby gifts, and my latest obsession THE MOM AGENDA which if you didn’t read my post about that go here.

I am excited that Couture Invito is offering a giveaway of one of their custom black and white notepads to a lucky Write Gal reader.  To enter, go visit their site and tell me in a comment what your favorite product is other than the notepad.  You can gain five (5) extra entries by blogging about this contest with a link to Couture Invito and to me.  But be sure and leave me five (5) separate comments telling me you did so because the winner will be drawn randomly on November 19, 2008.  The contest is open to U.S. addresses only please.

Good Luck!

Vintage Fun

The next time you have to buy a gift for that hard-to-buy-for person in your life, consider something from  Anne Taintor.   This New Mexico graphic artist uses her quirky humor to create a wide variety of products guaranteed to bring lots of smiles.  Choose from fun magnets, sticky notes, purses, pill boxes, note pads, coffee mugs, napkins and even flasks adorned with Anne Taintor’s funny sayings in vintage, retro style.

Even if you don’t need to buy a gift, consider getting something for yourself. Taintor’s sayings are simply hilarious!  Some of my favorites are “Stop Me Before I Volunteer Again,” “An Attitude is a Terrible Thing to Waste,” and “Domestically Disabled” (which is the magnet on my refrigerator!).  You can purchase the products directly from Anne Taintor or from Shop Artworks online.

Happy Shopping!
