This Christmas, The Little Write Gal has asked for games for her Nintendo DS. Shhhhhhhhh…..don’t tell her but she is getting one of the games she has been dying to try – Style Lab’s Jewelry Designer. I was lucky enough to receive a copy to review from Ubisoft.
Jewelry Designer allows girls to design a variety of jewelry pieces using a range of beautiful colored beads and charms. Using the stylus, girls can create earrings, necklaces, bracelets, cell-phone charms and bookmarks. Players can upload their unique in-game creations on UbiWorld, Ubisoft’s online destination site that is integrated with Style Lab Jewelry Design’s game functionalities. Using the Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection, girls can upload their created necklaces, earrings and bracelets inside the Style Lab Jewelry Design Boutique. Once the final design is uploaded, players have the option to purchase their own creation through ArtBeads where the actual piece will be delivered to their home and can be worn in real life. Style Lab Jewelry Design is rated E for Everyone and has an MSRP of $29.99.
I like how Jewelry Designer has an interactive feature which allows you to purchase the designs that your child creates using the game. This is definitely something unique from your normal DS games. Jewelry Designer would perfect gift if your daughter is creative like mine. If you see The Little Write Gal don’t tell her this will be waiting for her under the tree. She does read her Mommy’s blog so hopefully I can keep her from reading it until after Christmas.
If you are looking for a great family-friendly movie to rent this summer, you should definitely check out Hotel for Dogs which is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray from Paramount Entertainment. When two orphans find themselves in a foster home with a strict “no pets” policy, they set out to find a home for their canine companion and end up creating a haven for all of the strays in the city.

The Little Write Gal recently took the WAT-AAH! Challenge. She picked WAT-AAH! over soda. I am going to have to get some more of this stuff!
Here is the idea behind the challenge:
We are challenging mothers and their kids with the notion of choosing water over soda. Most parents believe that if given a choice, kids will pick soda. WAT-AAH! however, thinks the opposite. Mothers who participate in “The WAT-AAH! Challenge” will receive WAT-AAH! samples with instructions to put the bottled water in the fridge, NEXT TO THE SODAS. Mothers/fathers will be asked to write, photograph or videotape their kids’ responses and reactions to WAT-AAH! And if in fact they are drinking more water!
Your kids can take the WAT-AAH challenge too. You could win FREE WAT-AAH! and T-Shirts which will be given to the top five videos submitted! Visit their blog for more information. Check out The Little Write Gal’s video below. This is my first ever vlog so I am so excited I got it to work.
Keeks and Brie is having a fabulous sale on their braided headbands just in time for Easter! All braided headbands are just $10 each until Saturday, April 4th. The full selection can be viewed here. This is so going in the Little Write Gal’s Easter basket.
If you are looking for a new blog to read be sure and check out Brie’s. You can read it here or by clicking on the link in my blogroll. Brie and I are both big American Idol fans. We are predicting Adam and Danny for the final two.
The Little Write Gal’s favorite Nintendo DS game right now is the brand new Littlest Pet Shop Spring. If you are looking something to put in your daughter’s Easter basket and she has a DS, this game will make her smile! This is the fourth game in the Littlest Pet Shop DS series and adds more mini-games, accessories, and playsets to your Littlest Pet Shop collection. To quote the Little Write Gal: “I LOVE the Littlest Pet Shop! There are so many fun games on here but my favorite is Whirl & Twirl.” She let me play with it for about 5 minutes. That was all I was allowed. Check out the photo but please ignore the chipped blue fingernail polish. 🙂
This game is full of adorable pets that magically come to life in an exciting digital world. Your child can collect some of the newest and cutest pets and the more time they spend having fun with their pet, the more great stuff they earn such as new pets, playsets, and accessories.
Here are some features from the company’s Web site:
- *Accessorize your pets to make them even cuter with over 100 unique pet accessories including scarves, hats, glasses, and more!
- Play with your pets in four unique pet-sized worlds! Engage in all of your favorite winter activities, explore the depths of a thriving jungle, enjoy a fresh spring day, and shop for accessories in Pet Plaza.
- Compete in mini-games with your littlest pets! Play 20 fun and challenging games with your pet to unlock accessories, playsets, and new pets too! With a number of difficulty levels for each game, you can replay them over and over again.
The Littlest Pet Shop Spring retails for $29.99 and can be purchased here. It is for Girls, ages 6-10, and is rated E for everyone! Easter will be here soon so make sure you stock your baskets early. Which reminds me since The Little Write Gal already has this great game, what am I going to put in hers?
