This duet didn’t do it for me . . .

You know I am a huge American Idol fan and while I haven’t been impressed with this season’s contestants, you have to give it to the Idol producers for always having A-list artists on the show to perform.  I absolutely love Carrie Underwood and I am a long-time fan of Randy Travis who I have adored since high school.  Imagine my excitement when I heard the two of them would be performing Randy’s hit song “I Told You So” together on stage.  I know Carrie recently re-released it but I felt like last night she hogged the performance.  Hello.. Randy was sitting  right there can you please let him sing–just a little?  Normally I think she is a fashion icon but what was up with that Grandma hairdo (no offense to my Grandma readers LOL) and the blackbird or whatever it was in her hair?  X on the flowers on her dress.  Not impressed.

If you missed the performance last night you can check it out here:

What did you think?

I don’t watch Idol, but also love Randy and Carrie. I totally agree with you. I could probably deal with the dress and the hairstlye, but that black thing in her hair makes everything stand out even more as ICK!

Sure would have liked to have seen him get more credit for HIS song too. Seems like they should have each gotten a verse to themselves and shared the chorus maybe?

Yep, she hogged it. I like her but I adore Randy Travis, and we hardly ever get to see him on TV, so I would have liked to hear more of him. It was fun to see him coaching this week.

I think Carrie was trying for some kind of “olde timey” Opry look?

I don’t watch American Idol, but I adore Randy Travis. I’m thinking maybe he was suffering from a sore throat during this duet because this was clearly not his best performance.
